HeathfieldVets is proud to be an approved member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme.
To achieve accreditation we have undergone a rigorous inspection, which will be repeated regularly in the future. We are also subject to spot checks, and we have to certify each year that we continue to meet the necessary standards, which include:
the provision of 24 hour emergency cover for patients.
making clients aware of the arrangements for checking and monitoring patients kept in overnight.
a system for monitoring the outcome of treatments.
ongoing commitment to education and training of staff.
keeping premises clean and well maintained.
a policy for communicating with clients and looking at feedback.
ensuring clients are given estimates of the costs of treatments and consent to procedures undertaken.
access to laboratory facilities for diagnostic testing.
We must also meet legal and health and safety requirements covering premises, equipment, clients and employees.
